Babler Memorial State Park

Babler Memorial State Park is one of our favorite places in Missouri. We spent a gorgeous Indian summer afternoon there on Sunday:

We hiked, had a picnic, explored the old cemetary, tossed the football, and gathered leaves and rocks. It was honestly one of the best days of my year, just watching everyone have so much fun. I even found a large rock with quartz crystals in it. I am so thankful to God for such a wonderful day with my guys and to see His magesty in our surroundings.

Things That Eat Cake in the Night

We had such a great Halloween! R. picked up fried chicken from Woody's in Alton, IL (our favorite dumpy diner. . . so fattening and delicious and CHEAP!). I made home made mashed potatoes to go with and a chocolate cake, which we have preferred over the Halloween candy, mostly.
